The Brother Paul Trail
The trail was named in honor of the long time head coach, Brother Paul Shanley on April 29th, 2002. Brother Paul was the Abbey’s cross country coach for 23 years, earning Coach of the year honors six times during his career. He helped carve out the trail along with members of the cross country team over a two year span throughout the woods on the southeast side of campus. Â
Â
Its construction began in 1998, and has continued overtime, winding throughout campus and traversing within the woods, along the soccer practice fields, tennis courts and cemetery. The course now has multiple routes, and is used not only by the cross country team, but also as a recreational path for students, staff, faculty and visitors of the school.
