Labun Leads Women's Cross Country At Bulldog Stampede

Belmont Abbey's Women's Cross Country team ran to a 17th-place finish out of 20 teams in a rainy morning in today's 6K Bulldog Stampede hosted by Wingate University.

Freshman Elizabeth Labun led the Crusaders, finishing her first mile in 6:28, then passed a pair of Pfeiffer runners to complete her third mile in 20:00 before completing the race in 24:33.

Next in line for the Crusaders was freshman Amber Arias, who finished the course in 25:41.

Julia Ontranto (26:40), Kaitlin Howard (27:50), and Brianna Mosby (28:17) rounded out the field.

The Abbey will next run at the Queens University's Royals Challenge on October 10.
