
The Belmont Abbey women's Cross Country team ran to a ninth place finish out of 16 teams and a fifth place showing among non-division 1 teams in today's Winthrop/Adidas Invitational in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Freshman Elizabeth Labun led all Crusader runners in today's 5K run, starting off with a strong start, completing her first mile in 6:08, passed three runners in the next mile, and finished with a time of 20:08, good enough to finish eighth out of all non-division runners.
Freshman Julia Otranto was next in line for the Crusaders, clocking a time of 21:17.
Freshman Amber Arias (21:54), Senior Brianna Mosby (23:00), and Senior Kaitlin Howard (23:44) rounded out the field.
The Crusaders will next compete in the Bulldog Stampede at Wingate University next Saturday.
