Women's Cross Country Races To 26th At Sand Shark Invitational

The Belmont Abbey women's cross country team finished 26th out of 37 teams this morning at the Sand Shark Invitational, which was hosted by USC Beaufort in Hardeeville, South Carolina.

Junior Lucy Schmitz paced the Crusaders in the 5K race, clocking a time of 18:41 as she finished 24th.

Senior Brianna Mosby broke 21 minutes for first time this season, as she clocked a time of 20:56 to finish 135th.

Theresa Suarez was next, as her time of 21:39 was good for 164th. She was followed by Elena Fea, who finished 198th with a mark of 22:50.

The final two Abbey runners were Liz Theirfelder (23:16-203rd) and Bri Crisi (25:49-225th).

The Crusaders will now be off until the Conference Carolinas Championships, which will be hosted by Belmont Abbey College on November 7 at Frank Liske Park in Concord, NC.
