GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Coreen Norwood tallied nine kills and Brianna Morgheim added seven kills with no errors, leading Belmont Abbey to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-19) victory over Bob Jones in women's volleyball action Tuesday night. The Crusaders forced the Bruins to a negative hitting percentage (-.020), the second-lowest by an opponent all year.
Belmont Abbey held a 13-12 lead in the first set when it scored four straight points to start a 7-1 run for a 20-13 advantage. The Crusaders held off the Bruins for a 25-15 victory. In the second game, BAC reversed a 2-1 deficit with seven straight points and never trailed again.
The final set started with a 6-5 deficit, but the Crusaders tallied six in row to pull away.
Belmont Abbey returns to Conference Carolinas play this weekend with a trip to Lees-McRae and King.
