Volleyball Looks For Seventh Straight as Part of Homecoming

BELMONT, N.C. - The Belmont Abbey women's volleyball team will be looking for its seventh straight win on Friday when it welcomes Emmanuel to the Wheeler Center as part of the campus' annual Homecoming celebration. The match begins at 7 p.m.

The Crusaders (7-8 overall and 6-1 in Conference Carolinas action) are coming off a thrilling 3-2 victory over two-time defending league champion Erskine on Wednesday. Alexandra Henriott had her third double-double of the season with 10 kills and a season-high 23 digs while Mackenzie Chrapliwy and Hannah Dubas also reached double figures in kills.

Chrapliwy is the team leader this season with 150 kills, while Gabby Martinez is just three assists short of 3,000 for her career. She paces the Crusaders with 395 in her senior season, while also serving 20 aces. Sarah Kenney has 256 digs on the back line.

Emmanuel (4-8, 2-2) is tied for second in the South Division. The Lions are led in kills by Erica Burnham with 114, while Julie de Blanck has 96. Stephanie Hardy has 346 assists, an average of 9.11 per set, while Bethany Wilson paces the defense with 165 digs.
