Women's Track & Field Places Six on Academic All-Conference Team

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Six Belmont Abbey women's track and field athletes have been named to the Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference team, the league office announced today. Genevieve HickinBrette LinkenhokerJulia Otranto, Aziza Stansberry, Tori Whaley and 
Theresa Wilson were honored for their successes in the classroom while competing in the sport.

A total of 45 women were named to the team, which is comprised of junior and senior student-athletes who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution. The GPA is calculated based on the student-athlete's cumulative average through the previous semester and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year.

The announcement comes in preparation of the Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be hosted by Southern Wesleyan University beginning Friday.
