Day Two of NCAA Midwest Regionals Concludes

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The Belmont Abbey wrestling team had four wrestlers compete in day two of the NCAA Midwest Regionals. Michael Bedard, Troy Gregor, Jake Glunt, and Nicholas Lukanich all advanced to the second day as they gained victories in day one.

Bedard defeated Findlay's Schuyler Phillips, in the 125 weight class, with a 15-5 major decision and advanced to face Newberry's, Trung Duong. Duong earned the 17-2 technical fall sending Bedard to compete for fourth place. Bedard defeated Ashland's Sebastian Vidika, with a 4-3 decision to advance to the final match to determine fourth place and claim the last national qualifier. Indianapolis's Ana Abduljelil, defeated Bedard with a 5-3 decision.

In the 133 weight class, Nicholas Lukanich, fell to Indianapolis's Joe Kieffer with a fall and Troy Gregor was defeated by Findlay's Josh Wimer, in a 6-0 decision. Jake Glunt faced Findlay's, Alonzo Turner, in the 165 weight class with Turner gaining the fall.
