Crusaders Tie for Second at Cherokee Valley Invitational

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey put three golfers in the top 14, led by Kaitlyn Gribbon in fourth, to tie for second place Tuesday at the Cherokee Valley Invitational. The Crusaders shot 336 on Tuesday for a 36-hole total of 673, the same as Conference Carolinas rival Converse.

Kaitlyn Gribbon, the first-round leader at 74, dropped to fourth with a second-round 87. Haley Helton tied for seventh at 164 (85-79), while Anne Parlmer placed 14th at 170 (87-83).

Taylor Cozart posted a score of 178 (91-87/t27th), while Elizabeth Hordes rounded out the team effort with a 37th-place finish (98-93=191).

The Crusaders return to action next week at the Agnes McAmis Intercollegiate in Greeneville, Tenn.
