CHARLOTTE, NC- The Belmont Abbey Women's Golf team carded a final round 329, and moved up one spot to 13th place at the 2016 Bulldog Intercollegiate Challenge. The tournament was hosted by Wingate University and was held at the 5,847-yard par 73 Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation, just outside of Charlotte.
Sophomore Anne Parlmer led the Crusaders for tournament tying for 26th place with rounds of 81-83 (164). Sophomore Kaitlyn Gribbon had the low round of the day for Belmont Abbey, recording a four-over-par 76. Gribbon's 36-hole total of 165 tied her for 31st place.
Grace Glaze from Queens University and Mikaela Hadaway from Wingate University tied for first place with totals of 152. Glaze won on the second hole of a sudden death playoff to become the tournament's individual champion. Allison Cooper from Limestone College was third, one stroke back at 153.
Limestone won the team title with a 36-hole total of 626. The Saints were three better then Queens, who finished at 629. Wingate was third at 644, followed by Lincoln Memorial in fourth at 645 and Pfeiffer in fifth at 646.
The Belmont Abbey Women's Golf Team will return to action on April 4-5 at the Agnes McAmis Memorial at Link Hills Country Club in Greenville, Tenn.
