Women’s Golf 14th After Opening Round of the Bulldog Intercollegiate Challenge

CHARLOTTE, NC- The Belmont Abbey Women's Golf team carded an opening round of 345, and is in 14th place at the 2016 Bulldog Intercollegiate Challenge. The tournament is hosted by Wingate University and is being held at the 5,847-yard par 73 Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation, just outside of Charlotte.

Sophomore Anne Parlmer led the Crusaders in round one with an 8-over-par 81, including a one-over-par 37 on her final nine holes. Parlmer is tied for 22nd in the tournament.

Meghan Holbrooks from Pfeiffer University holds the individual lead after carding an even-par-73. Holbrooks has a two-shot lead over Hannah Luckett from Limestone College and Abigal Evans from Lincoln Memorial University.

Queens University of Charlotte holds the team lead with a score of 316. The Royals have a one shot lead over Lincoln Memorial, and three shots ahead of Pfeiffer and Limestone, who are tied for third at 319.

The second and final round of the event will take place Monday morning. The Crusaders will tee off starting at 9:15 am off of #10 tee.
