Women’s Golf Finishes 14th at Kiawah Island/Tusculum Invitational

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC- The Belmont Abbey Women's Golf Team fired a final round of 348 in wet, cold conditions, to finish 14th at the Kiawah Island/Tusculum Invitational this Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Katie Gribbon carded a 9-over-par-81 to finish in a tie for fifth place overall at 156. Gribbon was named to the All-Tournament Team.  She finished four strokes back from the individual champion, Jessica Smyth of West Alabama.

Junior Anne Parlmer followed up yesterday's 82, with an 84, for a two-round total of 166, tying for 41st  Sophomore Haley Helton finished in a tie for 60th at 173, followed by  Sarah King at 185 and Jamie Treece at 194.

Armstrong State won the event recording a final round score of 318, to win by three strokes over Florida Southern.

The Belmont Abbey Women's Golf team will return to action on February 22-23 at the Converse College Invitational in Spartanburg, SC.
