Women's Golf Cards 330 To Sit Alone In Fifth After Opening Round Of King Invitational

The Belmont Abbey women's golf team carded an opening round 330 to sit alone in fifth out of seven teams at the King University Invitational, which is staged at the par 71 Bristol Country Club.

Belmont Abbey enters tomorrow's final round four shots behind Barton and Milligan and seven behind Erskine. King holds the overnight lead 18 strokes clear of the Flying Fleet.

Sophomore Mia Baringer opened with a 78 as she is tied for sixth, the highest position on the leaderboard in her career.

Freshman Lauren Brychell is tied for 16th with an 82, one shot ahead of classmate Haley Helton, who is tied for 19th.

Kaitlyn Gribbon carded an 87 to sit in a tie for 23rd and Anne Parlmer is alone in 39th with a 105.

Sarah King, competing as an individual, is tied for 30th with an 89.

The final round begins Tuesday morning at 8:00.
