Women's Golf Finishes Fifth At Etowah Intercollegiate; Gribbon Records First Career Ace

Belmont Abbey freshman Kaitlyn Gribbon recorded her first career ace with a hole-in-one on the par three fourteenth hole as the Crusaders women's golf team finished fifth at the season opening Etowah Intercollegiate. The 36 hole event was staged at the par 72 Etowah Valley Country Club in Etowah, North Carolina.

One day after posting its lowest team score since 2011 with a 328, the Crusaders closed with a 350 today to finish fifth.

Sophomore Mia Baringer finished in a tie for sixteenth with matching scores of 82. Freshman Haley Helton closed with an 88 after opening with a 79. Her round today included a birdie on the par five second. She finished tied for twentieth.

Gribbon ended up in a tie for twenty second. She birdied the par four tenth and recorded an ace on the par three fourteenth as she carded an 87 after opening with a 79.

Freshman Lauren Brychell opened with an 85 and closed with a 93 today as she gained sole posssession of twenty sixth.

Sarah King opened with a 91 and carded a 94 today to finish alone in twenty ninth.
