The Belmont Abbey women's golf team capped off the fall season with the lowest round of the year, carding a final day score of 337 after opening with a 359 yesterday to finish in a tie for 13th at the Rock Barn Intercollegiate, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University on the par 71 Tom Jackson Golf Course in Conover, North Carolina, which will be the site of the 2014 NCAA National Championships.
The field consisted of five nationally-ranked programs, including three presently found in the top 15.
Belmont Abbey opened with a 359 but rallied with a 337 today, the lowest round of the fall season by one stroke.
Anne Parlmer gained sole possession of 64th with rounds of 91 and 84, while Becca Kasten shaved seven strokes off of yesterday's 95 to end up in a tie for 67th. Deanna Young opened with a 92 and closed with a 101 to end up alone in 71st.
Today's round completed the fall season for the Crusaders, who will be back in action in February for the championship portion of the schedule.
