Women's Golf Finishes 16th At Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate

The Belmont Abbey women's golf team shaved 11 strokes off of yesterday's score as three of the five players carded lower scores than the first round as the Crusaders finished 16th out of 17 teams at the par 72 Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate.

Belmont Abbey opened with a team score of 353 but rallied with a 342 today. Becca Kasten moved from a tie for 51st into a tie for 46th after carding a 78 today. She opened with an 83.

Sarah King sliced five strokes off of yesterday's 89 to move from a tie for 76th into a tie for 71st. Joining her in that spot is Anne Parlmer, who opened with an 86 and posted an 87 today.

Colleen Sholtes closed with a 93, two shots better than yesterday, as she ended up alone in 86th.  Deanna Young shot an even 100 today after a 96 yesterday to take sole possession of 88th.

The Crusaders are back in action next week as they head to the NCAA Division II Fall Preview.
