Crusaders Fall to King to Close Out the Season

The Belmont Abbey Crusaders closed out the 2016 schedule with a 2-1 loss to King. The loss concludes the Crusaders record at 20-29.

Laura Williams tossed a complete for Belmont Abbey, scattering seven hits on two earned runs. However, the Crusaders were able to score in the second inning, stranding eight runners in the process.

The Crusaders were led offensively by Lauren Clifford, who went 3-3 in the contest.

Williams allowed the two runs in the first before settling in the final six innings.  The freshman was saddled with her eighth loss, despite winning seven decisions on the year. The seven wins tied her for the team lead.

The Crusaders finished the tournament with a 1-2 mark.
