Men's Volleyball falls to Mount Olive 3-2

The Belmont Abbey (6-3, 3-3 CC) men's volleyball team dropped a five set thriller to Mount Olive (4-3, 3-2 CC) Friday night at Kornegay Arena in Mount Olive, N.C. The Abbey fell 25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 29-27, 8-15 to University of Mount Olive. Crusaders were paced by senior outside hitter Nolan Albrecht who led all players with 21 kills and a .404 clip. Senior middle blocker Justin Snyder notched 12 kills, 2.5 blocks and two aces.  Snyder hit .467 on the night.

Belmont Abbey hit .255 on the night while the Trojans had a .356 clip. The teams were about par in defense with the Abbey registering 40 digs and the Trojans with 45. Sophomore libero Robert Valentine led all players with 15 digs. 

At the service line, Belmont Abbey earned seven aces while Mount Olive only earned five. Although the Crusaders had 15 errors, Mount Olive had 18. 

Senior middle blocker Dustin Buell added eight kills hitting .467. Senior setter Derek Sullivan dished out 54 assists. 

Belmont Abbey is back in action Thursday night against Emmanuel. First serve is slated for 7:00PM.
