Trio Posts Qualifying Marks in Opening Meet

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A trio of Crusaders posted Conference Carolinas qualifying standards as Belmont Abbey opened its 2019 outdoor track and field schedule. Matthew Difrancesco, Thomas Eichorn and Dominic Pautler each earned spots in league's championship meet, scheduled for next month.


  • Difrancesco ran a time of 11.10 in the 100-meter dash. He finished 30th in the Division I-heavy field. The mark was just .02 seconds off his school record time from last year.
  • Eichorn covered 1500 meters in 4:17.08, finishing 88th overall.
  • Pautler placed 17th in the long jump. He cleared 6.50 meters (21'-4") on his first attempt, but was unable to improve on the next two.


  • Belmont Abbey competes next week at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.
