WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey opened its 2018-19 track season Saturday with a trip to the JDL College Kickoff, placing four athletes in the top 20 of their respective events.
- Matthew Difrancesco placed 11th in the 200 meters, winning his section with a time of 22.93
- The Crusaders had a pair of runners in the top 20 of the 3000-meter race. Christian Keghlian was 15th at 9:56.68, while Edward Genao finished in 10:22.39 for 20th.
- Dominic Pautler was 11th in the long jump. After scratching on his first attempt, he cleared 6.38m (20'-11.25") on his next try before finishing at 6.37 meters.
- Today's meet was the only one on the 2018 portion of the schedule. The Crusaders return to action during the spring semester.
