Men's Indoor Track & Field Races On Final Day Of Camel City Invitational

Five Belmont Abbey men's track and field athletes competed on the final day of the Camel City Invitational, a world class event that featured world champions, Olympic Medalists and national champions at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The day started with three Crusaders running in the 200 meters, led by freshman Alex Abalos's 39th place finish with a mark of 23.67. Joe Thierfelder and Zachary Melvin finished back-to-back, as Thierfelder placed 61st (24.34) and Melvin 62nd (24.47).

The final event for the Crusaders was the 4x400 relay team made up of Thierfelder, Abalos, Michael Koceja and Mac Makela. The quartet finished 15th with a time of 3:29.72.

Belmont Abbey is now off until February 20 when it heads back to JDL for the UCS Invitational.
