INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Belmont Abbey Men's Lacrosse team has been selected to compete in the NCAA Tournament, the NCAA announced this evening.
The Crusaders will play on Saturday, May 11 at 12 p.m. against the winner of Wednesday's first-round game between Queens and Indianapolis, which will be played on Wednesday.
Belmont Abbey, playing in its first-ever NCAA Tournament contest, finished the season with a 14-3 record, including a 6-1 conference mark and an appearance in the Conference Carolinas Championship game. The team was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation during the season.
Head Coach Chris Barrett commented: "We are truly blessed and excited for the opportunity to continue our season, especially knowing that we have one more opportunity at home. We look forward to watching Wednesday's action to see who we will play on Saturday."
Tickets will be sold at the event; $10 for adults, $5 for military, children ages 6-14, and students with a school ID card. Children ages 5 and under will receive free admission to the event. Parking at the event will cost $5.
