MIAMI, Fla. -- Senior Nick Stafford fired his second straight round in the 60s -- a 67 -- to finish in a tie for fifth at the prestigious Miami Intercollegiate Tuesday at Trump National Doral. The 14-team field featured nine of the top 10 teams in the country.
Stafford followed up his 68 in Monday's second round with the three-under par effort. He finished the event at one-under 209 (74-68-67), nine shots behind individual medalist John VanDerLaan of Florida Southern.
Michael Mead moved up 10 spots into a tie for 39th at 221 (76-74-71) after posting his low round of the tournament, while Levi Kettelhut tied for 56th at 225 (73-72-80). Maurizio DeBono tied for 71st at 233 (76-76-81), while Austin Gliha rounded out the scoring with a 242 (82-78-82) to place 79th.
West Florida won the event at 15-under 825.
The action concluded the Crusaders' fall season.
