GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey finished play Tuesday at the Southern Tide Classic with a team score of 301 to take fifth place overall. The Crusaders posted a 54-hole score of 898 (305-292-301) over the two-day competition.
Nick Stafford led the team by tying for 12th overall. He shot 76 in the final round for a score of 224 (77-71-76). Levi Kettelhut (79-72-76) and Maurizio DeBono were among a group tied for 22nd at 227, while John Molyneaux tied for 31st at 230 (74-79-77). Jacob Scruggs rounded out the scoring with a 234 (75-84-75/t43rd).
Limestone, the host school, took the team title with a score of 883, while Clayton State's Keith Egan earned medalist honors with a one-under 215.
Belmont Abbey returns to action Sunday and Monday at the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial in Monroe.
