CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Jacob Scruggs turned in a pair of sub-par rounds Monday to hold the lead after 36 holes of the University of West Georgia Matt Dyas Invitational. The freshman from Shelby, N.C., shot three-under 141 (71-70) for a one stroke lead.
As a team, Belmont Abbey recorded scores of 286 and 294 (580) to stand second, five strokes behind Newberry.
Nick Stafford is tied for fourth at 143 (72-71), while Levi Kettlehut is tied for 11th after rounds of 71 and 76 (147). Parker See is tied for 23rd at 149 (72-77) with John Molyneaux (t43/76-77=153) rounding out the scoring.
The final round will take place Tuesday.
