SUNSET BEACH, N.C. – Belmont Abbey posted a second-day total of 298 Tuesday to tie for third place overall at the 2016 Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, played at the par 72, Panthers Run Golf Club. Duke's B-Team won the event with a score of 556, while the Crusaders were just three shots off the Division II-best 583 carded by Lincoln Memorial.
Junior Nick Stafford earned all-tournament honors with a tie for fourth. After an opening day 67, he shot 74 on Tuesday, but still paced Belmont Abbey for the second straight tournament. Jacob Scruggs tied for 17th individually at 146 (70-76), while John Molyneaux (78-73) and Parker See (76-75) were in a group of players tied for 38. Levi Kettelhut rounded out the scoring at 153 (75-78), tied for 53rd.
Belmont Abbey returns to action in two weeks at the Cutter Creek Invite in Snow Hill, N.C.
