Limestone Stretches Lead After Day Two of Conference Carolinas Golf Championship

GREENSBORO, NC - The Limestone Saints Men's Golf team scored a tourney low 282 on Day Two of the 2016 Conference Carolinas Golf Championship at Bryan Park in Greensboro.

Limestone owns a 21 stroke lead over second place Belmont Abbey College, with a 24 stroke gap separating the leaders from third place King.

With the greens playing favorably to low scores, the Saints put an all-out assault on the leaderboard, with three players posting in the Top Five. 

Griffin Brown had the low number for a second consecutive day, carding a 68 for a two-day total of 134, 7-under for the championship.

Nick Stafford of Belmont Abbey sits in second place with scores of 70-71, 3-under for the tourney. Trailing Stafford in third place is Will Woodard of Limestone at even par, followed by John Thatch of Mount Olive at 1-over.

Rounding out the Top Five is a tie between Matt Mullarkey of Limestone and Paul Fitzpatrick of Erskine at 2-over.

Tomorrow, the champion will be crowned with an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional in May.  Tee times begin at 8am from the Champion's course at Bryan Park.
