Men's Golf Finishes First Round  in 4th

TRAVELERS REST, SC- The Belmont Abbey Men's Golf team recorded an opening round 307, and is in fourth place after the first day of competition of The Cliffs Intercollegiate. The tournament is hosted by North Greenville University and is contested at the par 72 Mountain Park Course at the Cliffs.

Senior Tyler Satorius led the Crusaders in round one with a two-over-par 74. Satorius is five strokes off the lead held by David Wallin from Young Harris College, who carded a three-under-par 69. Wallin holds a one shot lead over Jonathan Noble from Queens University who posted a two-under par 70.

Crusader sophomore Nick Stafford is in a tie for 15th after recording a three-over-par 75 score, while freshman John Molyneaux is tied for 35th after a 78.

The Crusaders are 15 strokes back from Young Harris College, who leads the event at 292.  Queens University is in second, one back at 293, followed by Brevard College at 300.

The final round of the 36-hole event starts Tuesday morning with tee times beginning at 9:30 am.
