Men’s Golf Tied for Fourth After Round One at Richard Rendleman Invitational

 

SALISBURY, NC- The Belmont Abbey Men's Golf team carded an opening round 299 and is in a tie for fourth place at the 2016 Richard Rendleman Invitational. The tournament is hosted by Catawba College and is being held at the 6,665-yard par 71 Country Club of Salisbury.

Sophomore Nick Stafford carded a final round 1-over-par 72 and is in a four-way tie for fourth place after 18 holes. Stafford is two strokes off the lead shared by Seth Robertson from North Greenville and Carlos Lasso from Lenoir-Rhyne.

The Crusaders are eight shots back from the lead , held by the North Greenville. Lenoir-Rhyne is second at 297, followed by Pfeiffer in third at 298. Belmont Abbey is tied with Lincoln Memorial at fourth at 299. The Railsplitters are ranked 19th in the nation in Division II in the latest Golfstat poll.

The final round of the 36-hole event is Tuesday morning at 8:30 am with players starting on both #1 and #10 tees.
