Men's Golf Closes With 298 To Finish 12th At Season Opening Kiawah Island Intercollegiate

The Belmont Abbey men's golf team sliced four strokes off of yesterday's 302, closing with a final round 298 to finish 12th out of 18 teams at the season opening Kiawah Island Intercollegiate. The 36 hole event was staged at Osprey Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, South Carolina and hosted by USC Aiken.

Belmont Abbey began the day tied for 11th, along with three other teams. The 298 today was four shots better than yesterday's 302 as three of five players bettered their scores from yesterday.

Freshman John Molyneaux began the day tied for 53rd with an opening round 77, but closed with a one under 71 to finish tied for 25th.

Nick Stafford opened with a two over 74 and was two shots better today, carding an even par 72 to finish among six players tied for 17th.

Michael Mead finished tied for 47th with rounds of 74 and 78, while Connor Rinoski finished alone in 71st with scores of 77 and 79.

Senior Tyler Satorius was three shots better than yesterday's 80 as his 77 today allowed him to finish tied for 72nd.

Belmont Abbey is back in action September 21-22 at the Columbus State Invitational.
