Satorius Captures Medalist Honors To Lead Men's Golf To Victory At Barton Intercollegiate

Belmont Abbey junior Tyler Satorius posted his first collegiate win with a final round two under 70 to lead the Crusaders men's golf team to victory at the Barton Intercollegiate. The 54 hole event was staged at the Wilson Country Club in Wilson, North Carolina.

It is Belmont Abbey's first team win since March 26, 2013 when the Crusaders captured the Bearcat Invitational in Greenwood, South Carolina.

The Crusaders closed with a 294 after opening with a 298 to hold the overnight lead by nine shots over host Barton.

Satorius began the day tied for second, one shot back, after carding an even par 72. Today, he posted a two under 70, which included an eagle on the ninth, holing out from 176 yards.

Nick Stafford closed with a 74 after carding an opening round 73. Michael Mead shaved two shots off of yesterday's 76, while Cameron Buist closed with a 76 after carding an opening round 79.

Justin Curis opened with a 77 and closed with a 79.
