Men's Golf Fires 298 To Lead By Nine After Opening Round Of Barton Intercollegiate

The Belmont Abbey men's golf team fired an opening round 298 to lead by nine shots after the opening round of the Barton Intercollegiate, which is staged at the par 72 Wilson Country Club in Wilson, North Carolina.

Three of the five Crusaders are in the top ten as Belmont Abbey leads Barton by nine shots.

Tyler Satorius fired an even par 72 as he sits in a tie for second, one shot behind overnight leader Matthew Moore of Southern Wesleyan.

Freshman Nick Stafford is alone in fourth with a one over 73, while classmate Michael Mead is tied for ninth with a 76.

Justin Curis carded a five over par 77 as he is tied for 12th, and Cameron Buist's round of 79 is tied for 17th.

The Crusaders enter tomorrow's final round looking for their first win of the season. The round begins tomorrow morning.
