Reid's Nine Under 63 Leads Men's Golf To Tie For Second After First Round Of The Trojan

Matthew Reid fired what is believed to be a school record 63 (-9) as he leads by seven shots to pace the Crusaders men's golf team to second place after one round of the Trojan Invitational, hosted by the University of Mount Olive at Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Reid, a senior from Dundee, Scotland, posted a career-best round as he enters tomorrow's final round leading by seven over Griffin Brown of Limestone.

The Saints lead the Crusaders by one shot as Limestone carded a 289 to Belmont Abbey's 290. Mount Olive is third at 293.

Reid led a consistent Abbey effort as Cameron Buist carded a one over 73 to sit in a tie for sixth. Tyler Satorius is next as his 76 is tied for 21st. Justin Curis is tied for 31st with a round of 78, while Paul Lenartowich rounded out the effort with an 83.
