Men's Golf Tied For 14th After 36 Holes At Loaded Pirate Invitational

The Belmont Abbey men's golf team completed 36 holes with a cumulative score of 617 to sit in a tie for 14th at the Pirate Invitational, which is hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State. Two of the five Crusaders are freshmen playing their first collegiate tournaments.

Belmont Abbey was tied for 13th after posting 309 in the morning round and moved back one spot with a 308 in the afternoon 18.

Paul Lenartowich posted a five over 76 in the morning but carded a 73 in the afternoon as he enters tomorrow's final round tied for 32nd.

Cameron Buist opened with an 81 but rallied with a 74 in the afternoon round to sit in a tie for 55th.

Matthew Reid and Todd Goebel are both tied for 69th with Reid opening with a 75 and closing with an 83. Goebel, in his first collegiate tournament, opened with a 77 and carded an 81 in the afternoon.

Justin Curis, in his first collegiate start, is tied for 80th with rounds of 82 and 80.

Belmont Abbey is tied with Lander and the two teams are two shots behind Mount Olive and two clear of Coker.

Nova Southeastern has the clubhouse lead by two shots over the hosts and nine in front of Lynn.
