Men's Golf Finishes Tied For Eighth At Season Opening Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate

The Belmont Abbey men's golf team finished in a tie for eighth out of 18 teams at the par 72 Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate, hosted by Carson-Newman University. Belmont Abbey came into the day tied for sixth with a 302, but the Crusaders totaled a 305 today to drop two spots.

Individual Tyler Satorius, who entered the day tied for eighth after a level par 72, fell to a tie for 37th with a 79.

As for the team scores, Matthew Reid opened with a 75 and rallied with a 73 to finish in a tie for 19th.  Cameron Buist opened with a 73 but fell to a 76 to finish in a tie for 23rd. 

Robin SalmiCameron Mitro and Paul Lenartowich all opened with scores of 77. Salmi was one stroke better today to finish in a tie for 51st, while Mitro closed with an 80 to end up in a tie for 63rd, and Lenartowich fell to an 81 to finish in a tie for 67th.
