Mullaly Takes Third in Saturday 'A' Race, Wins Sunday Criterium

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Keith Mullaly finished third in the Saturday road race hosted by North Carolina, then won the Duke Criterium on Sunday, highlighting a spectacular weekend for Belmont Abbey Cycling.

Jesse Kooistra also competed in the 'A' race in Chapel Hill on Saturday, finishing 12th, while Luke Richards placed 5th in the  'C' Division.

On Sunday in Durham, Richards also finished fifth in the 'C' Division, while Jesse Kooistra and Trey Hedgecock placed 14th and 15th, respectively, in the 'A' race.

"We had another great weekend," Head Coach Kyle Knott said. "Our A team put it all on the line to protect Keith Mullaly both in the road race and the criterium. It paid off by a win and a podium finish. As a coach, it is great to see teammates sacrifice their own personal results to work for the common team goal. With Keith's consistency, we now have the top rider in the ACCC Road Omnium. Luke also continued to shine with top performances in his division as well."
The Crusaders are now off for a month until returning to the roads in early April at Appalachian State.
