FLORENCE, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey junior DeQuan Abrom has been named to the D2CCC All-Southeast Region first team, the organization announced today.
Abrom, a guard from Washington, D.C., leads the region in scoring -- and currently ranks ninth nationally -- with a 24.7 points-per-game average. He finished second in school history with 765 points, reaching double figures in every game but one. He topped 20 points on 23 occasions, reaching 30 six times and 40 twice.
The 2018-19 Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, Abrom was also named first-team all-conference for the second straight year. He stood third in the conference in free-throw percentage (82.8 percent) and hit 54.1 percent from the field, ranking fourth in the league.
Abrom also averaged 3.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals per contest. He was named conference Player of the Week five times during the year.
As a sophomore, Abrom was named second-team All-Southeast Region.
