Men's Basketball Returns Home to Face Christendom

BELMONT, N.C. -- The Belmont Abbey men's basketball team returns to the Wheeler Center Tuesday night when it faces Christendom in a special 6 p.m. pre-Thanksgiving tipoff. The Crusaders are now 2-2 after falling on the road at Catawba on Saturday.

The Abbey is led by Deion Lane, who is coming off the team's first double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds against the Indians. He is averaging 18.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, having been the scoring leader in three of the four contests in 2016-17. Drexler Clark stands second at 15.0 points per game, while Jacob Wilson averages 14.0.

Christendom is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Also nicknamed the Crusaders, they are 1-2 following a 64-52 loss to Mid-Atlantic Christian on Saturday. Patrick Pennefather (12.3 points per game) and Mike McMahon (10.0 points per game) have led their offensive efforts this season.
