Crusaders in Seventh After First Round of Conference Cahmpionship

SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey women's golf team is in seventh after the first day of the Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Championship. The Crusaders shot a 323 Sunday, 20 shots behind the leader Limestone.

Kaitlyn Gribbon led The Abbey with a team-low 79 in the first round, take a share of 16th place. Haley Helton's 80 has her tied for 21st as both Jenna Nagy and Taylor Cozart shot an 82 tying them for 28th. Elizabeth Hordes shot an 85, tied for 38th position.

The Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Championship is being held at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C. Round two continues Monday.
