HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Kaitlyn Gribbon captured her second collegiate victory winning the Coker Cobra Women's Golf Invitational Tuesday at the Hartsville Country Club. Gribbon lead the Crusaders to a fifth-place finish in the tournament with a score of 642.
Gribbon got off to a spectacular start as round two's shotgun start started her on the 11th hole. With the first swing of the day, Gribbon holed the par three, beginning her day atop the leaderboard. She finished the day with a 68, a tournament-best 146 which was +2, six stroked better than the next top finisher.
Haley Helton tied for sixth place with a 159 (+15) shooting a second round of 79. Jenna Nagy's 80 gave her a tournament score of 161 good enough for a share of 23rd position. Taylor Cozart's 176 and Jamie Treece's 184 put them in 44th and 46th place respectively.
The Crusaders finished 26 strokes behind the team winners Erskine and Newberry who both shot 616.
The Crusaders will compete at the Wingate Challenge in Monroe, N.C. on March 19-20.
