SNOW HILL, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey improved as a team by one stroke on Tuesday, keeping the Crusaders in third place at the 2017 Cutter Creek Invitational hosted by Barton College. The Abbey posted a two-day total of 643 (322-321), 51 strokes behind team champion Limestone.
Freshman Jenna Nagy was the Crusaders' top golfer in the event, tying for 11th overall at 157 (78-79), while Haley Helton posted the team's best round of the day, a 78 to move to 13th place (81-78/159). Taylor Cozart slipped to a tie for 18th at 162 (78-84), while Kaitlyn Gribbon and Jamie Treece tied for 23rd with identical 167s (85-82).
Belmont Abbey also entered a B-team in the event, with it finishing seventh. Elizabeth Hordes tied for 21st individually at 166 (80-86), while Autumn Senter tied for 35th (92-85=177). Erin Walsh was in a tie for 38th at 182 (87-95) with Olivia Young (95-96=191/41st) and Isabella Robertson (101-104=205/42nd) rounding out the scoring.
