Stephen Rhodes joined the Belmont Abbey women's basketball staff as an assistant coach in August.
Rhodes comes to Belmont Abbey after one season as an assistant at Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. There, he helped the Bears to a 25-8 record, their first 25-win season in eight years, and a Region XIX tournament championship. His focus came on the defensive end and resulted in Harcum leading the NJCAA in steals per game at 19.2 per game. He also assisted with the Philadelphia Belles AAU Organization during his time in the Keystone state.
From 2014-16, he served as a graduate assistant at UNC Wilmington, where he helped with scouting and on-campus recruiting, while also working on video and social media projects. During the offseasons, he assisted with camp and individual workouts.
Rhodes holds both master's (2016 - Liberal Studies) and bachelor's (2014 - Recreation, Sport Leadership & Tourism Management) degrees from UNC Wilmington. He earned an Associate's degree in 2011 from Johnston Community College.
