Men's Track & Field Competes At Winston-Salem D2 Invitational

The Belmont Abbey Men's Indoor Track & Field team captured six top five performances this afternoon at the Winston-Salem D2 Invitational at the JDL Fast Track.

Freshman Alex Abalos raced to third in the 400 meters with a time of 52.08. Freshman Warren Jones added a fourth place finish in the 60 hurdles with a mark of 9.12. Michael Dianfrancesco added a 7.24 finish in the 60 meter dash, finishing sixth.

In the 800, sophomore Michael Koceja continued his strong indoor season, racing to second place with a mark of 2:02.35. EJ Cerderias was one spot behind at 2:02.41 and Patrick Lester was fifth at 2:03.91.

In the mile Nicholas Snell raced to fifth at 4:57.55 with David Iverson finishing one spot back at 5:00.73.

In the lone field event, Joe Thierfelder was eighth in the long jump at 5.90 meters with Tarik Amon finishing one spot back at 5.87 meters.
