The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team scored two doubles wins and secured a 6-3 triumph over Catawba with four singles victories tonight in Salisbury.
In doubles, Juan Baez and James Delaney posted an 8-6 win at the top flight, with Grant Goldin and Young-Jin Kang locking down an 8-5 victory at the second spot to give the Crusaders a 2-1 lead entering singles play.
Belmont Abbey won at the two, three, four and five positions to post the victory over the Indians. Delaney scored a 6-4, 6-3 win at number two, with Goldin going the distance at number three. After dropping the first set 6-4, Goldin rallied for a 6-4, 10-8 victory. Kang posted a 6-4, 7-5 victory at number five and Laine Harrett registered his first career dual win after rallying from a set down, scoring a 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 victory.
