Men's Soccer Nets Three Unanswered Goals In Final 15 Minutes To Stun Chowan, 3-2

Belmont Abbey sophomore midfielder Clay Dimick assisted the tying goal in the 80th minute then netted the game winner in the 88th to cap off a three unanswered goal flurry in the final 15 minutes to give the Crusaders men's soccer team a 3-2 win at Chowan. The Crusaders get their first win of the year as they improve to 1-1-2, while the Hawks fall to 3-2-0.

The Crusaders yielded two first half goals in the first 17 minutes as Chowan held its two goal advantage for the first 74 minutes until the Crusaders mounted their rally.

Ryan Falchek cut the Abbey's deficit to 2-1 in the 76th minute as the Texan netted his first career goal, beating the goalkeeper near post.

Four minutes later, Nick Fuller pulled the Abbey level with his first goal of the year, taking a pass from Dimick on give-and-go and tapping the ball into the empty net as Dimick used a nifty move to get around the keeper and slide the ball to Fuller.

12 minutes later, near the end of regulation, Dimick struck again as he got behind the Hawks defense on a breakaway and beat the keeper near post for his first goal of the year.

Belmont Abbey outshot Chowan 26-15, including 11-9 in the second half. Both team attempted five corner kicks.
