Liam Osborne Named Conference Carolinas Co-Offensive Player of the Year; 5 Others Named All-Conference

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Belmont Abbey junior attacker Liam Osborne has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Co-Offensive Player of the Year for 2018, the conference announced today.

Osborne, a Bowmanville, Ontario, has scored 33 goals this season, good enough for fourth in the conference.  He has handed out 20 assists on the year, which is tied for fourth in the conference rankings.  His total of 53 points for the season also has him placed at fourth in Conference Carolinas.

Highlighting Osborne's season was the game against Molloy College, in which he scored four goals, dished out two assists, and picked up five ground balls.

Osborne was also named to the All-Conference Carolinas First Team.

 

In addition to Osborne, senior attacker Adam Wiedemann and junior defender Anthony Cesario were selected to the All-Conference Carolinas First Team.  Wiedemann has handed out 28 assists to date, good enough for second in Conference Carolinas.  He also stands in third place in the conference with 58 points.  Cesario is the league's leader in caused turnovers, with 27.  His season high is three caused turnovers, a feat he has accomplished four times this year.

 

Senior defender Cody Agrella, freshman longstick midfielder Conor Larkin, and senior midfielder Kyle McGinley were named to the All-Conference Carolinas Second Team.

Belmont Abbey will face Limestone College on Sunday, April 29 at 1 p.m. for the Conference Carolinas Championship.  The game will take place on the campus of North Greenville University in Tigerville, S.C.
