Men's Soccer Ties Coker, 0-0, Falls In Penalty Kicks, 6-5

The sixth-seeded Belmont Abbey men's soccer team battled fifth-seeded Coker to a 0-0 draw this afternoon in the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Tournament Championship match, but the Cobras won the title by virtue of a 5-4 win on penalty kicks. The contest is officially recorded as a tie, as Coker improves to 12-5-3 while the Abbey ends its season with a mark of 12-7-2.... (more)

Yamson's Second Half Goal Vaults Men's Soccer Past Limestone, 1-0 And Into Tourney Final

Belmont Abbey senior forward Emmanual Yamson scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute as the sixth-seeded Crusaders men's soccer team upset the second-seeded Limestone Saints 1-0 this afternoon in the Conference Carolinas Tournament semifinal. The Abbey, which advances to the final for the first time since 2005, improves to 12-7-1, while the Saints fall to 13-5. It is the third-straight season that the Abbey has eliminated the Saints on their home field in the Conference Tournament.... (more)
