Men's Basketball Races Past Mount Olive, 83-77

The Belmont Abbey men's basketball team led by as many as 20 points in the second half and held off a late Mount Olive charge to earn an 83-77 win over the visiting Trojans this evening at the Wheeler Center. The Abbey, winners of five of its last seven, move to 14-7 overall and 8-3 in Conference Carolinas, while Mount Olive, which had its six game winning streak snapped, drops to 14-7 overall and 7-4 in Conference Carolinas.... Women's Basketball Makes Furious Comeback, But Falls In Overtime To Mount Olive, 73-68

The Belmont Abbey women’s basketball team lost to Mount Olive 73-68 on Saturday night despite a furious comeback to force overtime. Melisa Foures's three pointer with one second left tied the game at 63 and forced overtime. However, Mount Olive outscored the Crusaders 10-5 in the overtime period to take the victory. The loss drops the Abbey to 10-11 overall and 6-6 in conference play. Mount Olive improves to 15-5 overall and 9-2 in conference. ... (more)

Baseball Suffers Its First Loss to Mars Hill, 11-3

The Belmont Abbey men’s baseball team fell for the first time this season 11-3 to Mars Hill in the second half of a doubleheader on Saturday evening. The Crusaders fell behind early and were unable to recover. The Abbey is now 3-1 on the season... (more)
