Softball Signs Seven For 2010 Season

Belmont Abbey head softball coach Kenny Terry has announced the signing of seven student-athletes for the 2010 season. They are Destini Brown, a centerfielder from Swansboro, North Carolina; Kaitlyn Coyne, a catcher/first baseman from Chesapeake, Virginia; Samantha Crews, an outfielder from Zephyrhills, Florida; Rebecca Rothrock, a catcher from Kernersville, North Carolina; Anna Smart, a utility infielder catcher/first baseman from Asheville, North Carolina; Brittany Southard, a pitcher from Mauldin, South Carolina; and Emily Tappe, an outfielder/shortstop from Jacksonville, Florida.... Men's Basketball Receiving Votes In National Top 25 Coaches Poll

The Belmont Abbey men's basketball team, which has matched its best start in five years at 5-0, is receiving votes in the latest national top 25 poll conducted by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, which was released today. The Abbey is 5-0 overall and 2-0 in Conference Carolinas as it received five votes in this week's poll. The last Abbey team to start 5-0 was in 2003 en route to a 24-7 record.... (more)

Amanda Maddock Named Third-Team All-American By Daktronics

Belmont Abbey junior defender Amanda Maddock was named to the Daktronics third-team All-American squad this afternoon. The team is voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Maddock was the only player from a Conference Carolinas institution represented on the four squads, which included an honorable mention team.... (more)

Men's Basketball Remains Unbeaten With 97-81 Win At St. Andrews Presbyterian

The Belmont Abbey men's basketball team shot 61.4 percent (35-57) from the floor, 61.9 percent (13-21) from three-point range and 100 percent (14-14) from the free throw line as four of the Crusaders starting five reached double figures with an easy 91-87 win at St. Andrews Presbyterian this evening. The Abbey remains unbeaten at 5-0 overall and 2-0 in Conference Carolinas, while the Knights fall to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in Conference Carolinas.... (more)
